WILLS
Are you thinking of updating or making a Will?
Did you know less than half of UK adults have a Will?
You may be surprised to know that your husband or wife may not automatically inherit your estate if you pass away first. If you have children and you do not have a Will, then your spouse will only receive your personal chattels, the first £270,000 of your estate and half of the remainder. If there are no children, then the spouse will receive only the personal possessions and the first £450,000 only. The remainder is then halved between your spouse and the rest of the family.
Wills are so important and lets you decide what happens to your money, property and your possessions after you die. If you make a Will you can also ensure that you do not pay more Inheritance Tax than you need to.
